Control System Design
Complete electrical and control system design including schematics development, panel layout, bill of materials, conduit schedules, pull lists, and IO lists. We use AutoCAD Electrical for all of our electrical drafting.
Industrial Network Design
Portside Systems has a significant amount of experience designing and commissioning industrial fiber optic and Cu networks. This includes but is not limited to Ethernet I/P, Modbus (Serial and TCP), DNP (Serial and Ethernet), IEC 61850, Profi-Net/Bus, Control Net (Fiber and Co-axial), and Can-bus (Ether-Cat and standard CAN) networks.
Power System Design
We can design and install your backup or prime power system. We have experience with propane, natural gas, and diesel system up to 2.5Mw per unit. We can also design the switchgear or transfer switch to meet your applications needs.
Load Bank Testing
Portside Systems owns multiple load bank systems up to 100kw/480V. We have the capability to load bank up to 2.5Mw.
Winding/Coil Insulation Testing
Full winding analysis and reporting using industry leading test equipment. We are trained using the Electrom iTIG II test set to perform Hi-Pot Testing, Polarization Index Testing, Surge Comparison Testing, and Phase Resistance Testing.
Winding Service
Full alternator and electric motor winding diagnostics and repair. This includes performing rotor air gap measurements, pole drop testing, onsite varnish repair, and coil removal & rebuilding service.
Dry Ice Blasting
Complete Dry Ice Blasting service using industry leading dry ice media equipment. This process is a great option to cleaning rotor and stator windings, brush assemblies, and rotating mechanical equipment. This process does not induce moisture into the windings resulting in a zero drying time after cleaning. Once the cleaning is completed, the system can be re-tested and put back into service, resulting in a lower overall downtime.
Cable Testing
Complete cable testing and reporting of electrical power conductors from 200V to 20Kv. This includes ground testing, cable meggering, and routine insulation breakdown testing.
Power System Controls
Portside Systems is a distributor of Deep Sea Electronics and has installed these controllers on more than 35 Mw of generation systems. We have used these controllers to re-fit existing generators and switchgear. We have the in-house capability to design, install, and startup a complete generator control system upgrade. Our expertise is on systems ranging from 50kw to 2.5 Mw at 480v to 4160V.
